EUROPCAR
EUROPCAR is a car rental company owned by the French Investment Fund Eurazeo. EUROPCAR is headquartered in a suburb of Paris, San Quentin, France. The company became the property of Eurazeo, after the sale of Volkswagen Group by the holding. 1949 was the foundation year of EUROPCAR, currently the company's fleet of vehicles exceeds 200,000 vehicles at 2,825 rental locations in 143 different countries, including all of Europe, as well as: North America, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, India, Asia and countries The Caribbean.
Although, EUROPCAR is the largest, international rental company, the brand is most recognized in the largest and most economically developed countries of Europe, such as: Germany, France, the UK and others. The key customers of EUROPCAR are travel tourists and large companies that rent cars for their employees .
As part of cost reduction and the sale of non-core assets of Volkswagen groups, a decision was made to sell EUROPCAR. By June 1, 2006, the transfer of ownership of the EUROPCAR brand to the Eurazeo investment fund was completed.
In 2007, EUROPCAR acquires Vanguard EMEA for 670 million euros. Vanguard EMEA owns the National rent a car and Alamo rent a car brands in Europe. The purchase was determined by EUROPCAR’s desire to enter the North American market and the company succeeded; National rental a car rental brand in North America replaced its former partner Thrifty Car Rental.
